The hope of using the #moreaccessible hash tag is to help to try and bring together everyone to talk about accessibility issues, whether it be physical barriers or challenging conventional ideas. It can be used to share news stories related accessibility, interesting ideas and thoughts and also messages about accessibility.
The great movements of the past all got going when individuals all came together to fight for a common cause. They might have all been trying to reach different goals in that fight, but they realized that they would get further by fighting together. As has been shown by these great movements, when you work collectively, massive change can happen.
The community is fractured with everybody having their own thoughts and beliefs. And everybody has their own labels and agendas. But by putting all of it together, we create one voice, which will tell the world that we want it to be #moreaccessible.

What does accessibility mean to you? It’s more than just curb cuts and ramps. The sidewalk width and grade, or shop entrance and aisle widths can make a huge difference. Is a bathroom really accessible if it fits a wheelchair yet has no automatic door opener? Good lighting, easily defined steps, and smooth pavements all add to how easily and safely a person moves around their neighbourhood.
