Inscribed in the living tile: Type in the Toronto subway (Joe Clark)

Inscribed in the living tile: Type in the Toronto subway (Joe Clark): "The Toronto subway has a typographic heritage all its own, starting with a unique font. But, with renovation after renovation and after a series of new station additions, signage and wayfinding in the system are a total mess. The latest “standard” in Toronto subway signage uses fake Helvetica and is a clone of Massimo Vignelli’s work from 40 years ago"

Jena Six - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jena Six - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: "Jena Six refers to a group of six black teenagers who have been arrested and charged with crimes related to their alleged involvement in the assault of a white teenager in Jena, Louisiana, on December 4, 2006. The incident is one of many racially charged events that have occurred in the town since the hanging of nooses on the 'white tree' on the Jena High School campus. The nooses initially caused racial tempers to flare, as for many it recalled the history of lynching in the South, though a few white people in Jena, who were not related to the incident, have claimed that it was just a 'prank' with no racist intent.[1] Critics of how the case was handled, including civil rights activists Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, have said that the arrests and subsequent charges were racially motivated."

Kenadie News and Updates

Kenadie News and Updates: "Now I will move on to Kenadie. Now 4 years old... Kenadie is still in daycare for the mornings and an entry Kindergarten program in the afternoons. She is beginning to put more and more words together and is trying to communicate more every day. Just last week we had a Psychological Assessment done for her. This was to help us with her goals for development and education as well as for discipline. Kenadie is a happy and pleasant child, and was assessed at approximately a 2 year level. I will now take this opportunity to address an issue that has been brought to my attention several times. Kenadie is NOT potty trained yet. I realize that she is 4, but she is petrified of the toilet; and now learning where her development is we have been assured by our doctors that pushing potty training is not necessary. It will come in time for her, and in fact she has shown a small bit of interest as her brother is now starting. So, as I have said in the past, we will let Kenadie grow at her own pace."

Toronto subway station tiles

Toronto subway station tiles: "The original Toronto subway tile colour scheme was generated by combining a number of background colours with four trim colours. The result was one of subtly varied unity, offering just enough difference between otherwise similar stations to avoid confusion. The regular pattern in the colour scheme went unnoticed by most subway riders."
