It's great indeed, much better than Virutal Earth, but for European countries I prefer SIG systems like the Spanish Sigpac (http://sigpac.mapa.es/fega/visor/), which has high resolution fotographs of all the territory.
Give it a try an zoom in the map until the photo appears.
Nice blog btw.
I enjoy the heck out of this one myself. It's a cool program!
