The Coast FM - Classic Hits 95.5
It's a simple philosophy really... Support Your Community.
It's what The Coast is all about. There's nothing more important than family, friends and neighbours.
The Coast is a comfortable sweater. It's the people's station - it's your station. When you turn the dial to 95.5 you'll instantly be put at ease.
Community first radio means you not only hear the local hockey and soccer scores, but you hear the names of the kids who scored the goals and got the assists. It's the little things that amount to a complete community package. The Coast and the community will grow and prosper together. Here's to years of charity work, fundraising, promotion and fun!
Congratulations! You now have a radio station you can truly call your own."

'They said it was slow,' executive producer Lee Mendelson remembers with a laugh. There were concerns that the show was almost defiantly different: There was no laugh track, real children provided the voices, and there was a swinging score by jazz pianist Vince Guaraldi."

THE ENTERTANIER by Scott Joplin
- Now the curtain is going up,
- The entertainer is taking a bow,
- Does his dance step and sings his song,
- Even gets all the audience to sing along,
- Yes, he knows just what he must do,
- Knows how to bring down the house when he’s through,
- Snappy patter and jokes, he knows what pleases the folks,
- The entertainer, the star of the show.
- It was in vaudeville and he was on the bill,
- With all the singers, dancers, acrobats and clowns,
- There was a dancing bear, even a dog act there,
- And a comedian who never let ‘em down,
- But, when he came on to do his fav’rite song,
- He really wowed ‘em in the cities and the towns,
- They came from near and far, to see the vaudeville star,
- The entertainer!

NPR : Present at the Creation: "Monopoly. The Hollywood Sign. 'The Raven.' The Lincoln Memorial. Overalls. 'New York, New York.'
Present at the Creation grew out of the success of the Peabody Award-winning NPR 100 series featuring the most important American musical works of the 20th century. The new series will examine the creative process behind the designs, sounds, images and writings that helped shape American culture.
Initially, members of the NPR News and Cultural Programming staffs compiled a long list of creative works that included visual arts, film, television, music, photography, games, advertising, literature, fictional characters, places and monuments. Nominations had to meet two of the following three criteria: 1) The work had to be widely recognized. 2) It had to have been created in order to express an idea or value. 3) It had to have moved people or inspired awe. The Oldest Dr Pepper Bottling Plant in the World! A True Texas Original!
Old Doc's Soda Shop
105 E. Elm
Dublin, TX 76446
888-398-1024
The history of Dublin Dr Pepper: "Dublin Dr Pepper History
In 1885 Waco, Texas was a wild frontier town, nicknamed “six-shooter junction.” Wade Morrison’s Old Corner Drug Store was a prominent business and popular meeting place in downtown Waco. People came in for everything from flea powder to stationery, from cigars to fountain drinks.
One of Morrison’s employees, pharmacist Charles Alderton, noticed how customers loved the smell of the soda fountain with its many fruit, spice and berry aromas. He wanted to invent a drink that tasted the wonderful way the soda fountain smelled. After much experimentation he finally felt he had hit on “something different.” Patrons at the drug store agreed."
Dublin Dr Pepper: -the distinction of being bottled with Imperial Pure Cane Sugar - the original Dr Pepper formula.
Dublin, Texas—also known officially as Dr Pepper, Texas for one week each June during our annual birthday celebration—became the site for the world’s oldest Dr Pepper bottling plant in 1891, just six years after the drink's invention in nearby Waco."

Green Bay Packers - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Packers are the last remaining example of the 'small town teams' that comprised a majority of the NFL during the 1920s. Green Bay is by far the smallest media market to be the home of a North American major professional sports league (though their fanbase includes Milwaukee, the rest of Wisconsin, and beyond).
Founded in 1919, the Packers joined the NFL in 1921 during the league's second season. Today, the team holds the record for most NFL league championships with 12: nine NFL Championships prior to the Super Bowl era, Super Bowl I, Super Bowl II, and Super Bowl XXXI. The team also holds the distinction of winning the first two AFL-NFL Championship Games that were held before the AFL-NFL Merger, later referred to as Super Bowl I and II.
The Packers are currently the only publicly owned major league level professional sports team in the United States. Currently, a total of 4,749,925 shares are owned by 111,921 stockholders - none of whom receives any dividend"
Buffalo Bills - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Bills won two consecutive AFL titles in 1964 and 1965. The club is also the first and only team to win four consecutive American Football Conference Championships, though they failed to win any of the subsequent Super Bowls. The franchise name comes from the legendary western hunter and performer Buffalo Bill."

YOU MIGHT BE IN RADIO IF...
YOU MIGHT BE IN RADIO IF... you have 37 unlabeled 15 minute cassettes in your back seat.
YOU MIGHT BE IN RADIO IF... you listen to the radio "invertedly", turning up the volume during promos, sweepers, and talksets, and flipping to another station during music.
YOU MIGHT BE IN RADIO IF... you drive around aimlessly looking for an unlit 4 tower array just to see it.
YOU MIGHT BE IN RADIO IF... you swear at the competition while driving when you hear a song they beat you to.
YOU MIGHT BE IN RADIO IF... you've ever heard of a "cart".
YOU MIGHT BE IN RADIO IF... you tell someone you plan to go to lunch "coming up next hour".

YOU MIGHT BE IN RADIO IF... you have lived in six cities in eight years.
YOU MIGHT BE IN RADIO IF... you remember what "When you play it, say it!" means.
YOU MIGHT BE IN RADIO IF......You get excited at sunset and drive by the towers just to hear the phase shift.
YOU MIGHT BE IN RADIO IF......you know at just what mile marker a certain station will/will not come in.
YOU MIGHT BE IN RADIO IF......you kicked the transmitter up to 50,000 Watts at night just so your friends to the south could hear you (even if it was just for a few minutes)...
YOU MIGHT BE IN RADIO IF......you drive north/south/east/west just to get that certain station.
YOU MIGHT BE IN RADIO IF......you drive a $500.00 piece of crap while the sales weasels have $50,000 Lexus.
YOU MIGHT BE IN RADIO IF .....You put up with it.
YOU MIGHT BE IN RADIO IF......You find yourself talking to yourself all the time to see how you sound.
YOU MIGHT BE IN RADIO IF......you base your trip plans on what stations you want to hear.
YOU MIGHT BE IN RADIO IF......you get a memo about how to report overtime and you wonder which overtime is overtime.
YOU MIGHT BE IN RADIO IF......two days off in a row is considered a "long weekend."

YOU MIGHT BE IN RADIO IF......you have a dozen radios, but you need them all.
YOU MIGHT BE IN RADIO IF......you have copies of both the album version and radio edit.
YOU MIGHT BE IN RADIO IF......you aren't a sports fan but you know who won and when they play next.
YOU MIGHT BE IN RADIO IF......you have recurring nightmares about bad airshifts filled with dead air.
YOU MIGHT BE IN RADIO IF......you interview the governor and drive off in a junker.
YOU MIGHT BE IN RADIO.....At Christmas dinner, you backsell the Christmas presents, explaining that "Unopened ones around the corner, stick around".
YOU MIGHT BE IN RADIO IF....when the hotline rings you break into a cold sweat.
YOU MIGHT BR IN RADIO IF....your production/remote load exceeds your airshift and your friends ARE NOT in radio when they say you "have it made" working 4 hours just playing music.
YOU MIGHT BE IN RADIO IF....you begin to like the music you are playing even though you have been faking it for years.
YOU MIGHT BE IN RADIO IF... you can run to the can, drop a load while smoking a cigarette and make it back for the last 15 seconds of a 4 min. song.

YOU MIGHT BE IN RADIO IF...said chick turns out to really be hot and your one goal is to have sex under the tower in back.

YOU MIGHT BE IN RADIO IF....you do an air shift in your dreams.
YOU MIGHT BE IN RADIO IF...on a holiday weekend, you're the only one at the station.

YOU MIGHT BE IN RADIO IF...you actually own white cassette tapes.
YOU MIGHT BE IN RADIO IF...you don't know whether to introduce yourself at parties...with your air-name or your real name.
YOU MIGHT BE IN RADIO IF...you know how long it takes you to take a dump by song title.
YOU MIGHT BE IN RADIO IF...two months ago when you worked at the car wash you could jog a mile without being out of breath and now it is tough for you to get from your car to the LazEboy.
YOU MIGHT BE IN RADIO IF...you know what temperature it is.
YOU MIGHT BE IN RADIO IF...you make your friends listen to airchecks and they have no idea what you are talking about.
YOU MIGHT BE IN RADIO IF...you refer to nighttime as "the weekend"
YOU MIGHT BE IN RADIO IF...you don't assume DJs are attractive...
YOU MIGHT BE IN RADIO.....if you hear your competition using catch phrases and you pull over to the side of the road screaming, "Thats mine Damnit!" - while your kids look at you as if you've finally snapped.
YOU MIGHT BE IN RADIO.....if you tell your wife/girl/boyfriend, "Coming up next hour we'll be hearing from the inlaws, plus we have a new dinner today you're going to really like..."
YOU MIGHT BE IN RADIO.....if the first time you voice-tracked a shift, you stayed up until 4 A.M. to catch every break.
YOU MIGHT BE IN RADIO.....if your boss mispelled your last name and called you Dennis for the first six months, and asked you how you like working at the Country station when you worked at the hot Adult Contemporary station next door.

Produced by Norman Lear and based on a British television series Til Death Us Do Part, the show broke ground in its depiction of issues previously deemed unsuitable for network television comedy, such as racism, homosexuality, women's liberation, rape, breast cancer and impotence.
The show was wildly popular, and ranked #1 in the yearly Nielsen ratings from 1971 to 1976. Only one other program, The Cosby Show, has tied All In The Family in terms of years at the top of the ratings. In 2002, it ranked #4 on TV Guide's list of the 50 greatest TV shows of all time. TV Guide also named the show's protagonist, Archie Bunker, TV's greatest character of all time."

It is the last U.S. network holding company to legally abandon the name behind its acronym; in 2003, the corporate name was shrunk from 'National Broadcasting Company, Inc.' as it had been from 1926 to 'NBC Universal, Inc.' following a merger with French Vivendi Universal's Entertainment division in 2004. NBC still uses the full name during occasional broadcasts, such as its coverage of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. National Public Radio - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Like its competitors, American Public Media and Public Radio International, NPR produces and distributes news and cultural programming. Its member stations are not required to broadcast all of these programs and most public radio stations broadcast programs from all three providers. Its flagship programs are two drive time news broadcasts, Morning Edition, and the afternoon All Things Considered; both are carried by nearly all NPR affiliates and in 2002 were the second- and third-most popular radio programs in the country. Morning Edition has been the network's most popular program since 1979."

European classical music - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The term classical music did not appear until the early 19th century, in an attempt to 'canonize' the period from Bach to Beethoven as an era in music parallel to the golden age of sculpture, architecture and art of classical antiquity, (from which of course no music has directly survived). The earliest reference to 'classical music' recorded by the Oxford English Dictionary is from about 1836. Since that time the term has developed in common parlance as a simple opposite to popular music"
CBL-FM - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
CBL-FM was launched in 1946, simulcasting CBL-AM on the FM band. It originally broadcast at 99.1, but moved to 94.1 in 1966. (The 99.1 frequency was vacant until 1977, when it was assigned to the CKO radio network. CKO ceased operations in 1989, and the frequency was again vacant until it was assigned to CBLA.)
The CBC's FM network was strictly a simulcast of the AM network until 1960. In that year, distinct programming was launched on the FM network for the first time; this was discontinued in 1962 and resumed again in 1964. The FM network was rebranded CBC Stereo in 1975, and CBC Radio Two in 1997."

CBC Radio Two - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The CBC's FM network was launched in 1946, but was strictly a simulcast of the AM radio network until 1960. In that year, distinct programming on the FM network was launched for the first time. This was briefly discontinued in 1962, but resumed again in 1964.
In 1975, the FM network was rebranded CBC Stereo, to distinguish it from the AM network, known as CBC Radio. However, in the 1990s many of the old AM stations moved to FM as well, so in 1997 the CBC rebranded the networks as the current CBC Radio One and CBC Radio Two.
Radio Two is not as widely available across Canada as Radio One.
